Comment Policy

By Jack Barnhill On March 22nd, 2010

Before any problems come up about spamming or other comments that degrade the intended tone of this blog we would like to establish the following Comment Policy:

  1. Pixelsandsawdust.com reserves the right to edit or remove comments on this site at our sole discretion.
  2. We will remove any comment (however substantial or interesting) which contains a link to any commercial site advertising or offering illegal items, porn, gambling, or other sites that we find offensive.
  3. We will remove any comment that appears to be just there in order to generate a link to the user’s site, whether or not that site is itself offensive (unless the site in question is directly relevant to the text of the post itself).
  4. We also reserve the right to remove comments for any other reason including those listed below. (though we will try to err on the side of inclusiveness).
  • Comments that are off-topic for the post they’re attached to (a common issue with spam comments).
  • Comments that are personal attacks on the bloggers, other readers or commenters.
  • We don’t mind controversy.  But we do want the tone of this blog and website to be informative, constructive, and of service to all readers.
  • Attacks or defenses on either side that deteriorate to mud-slinging do not seem in line with those objectives.
  • Comments left anonymously or with a fake name/email.
  • Comments that are libelous.
  • Comments that are obscene.
  • Comments that contain private information that shouldn’t be public.
  • Comments that contain plagiarized material.

We apologize in advance if this policy means we end up removing a comment you consider relevant, non-promotional, and within policy.  Feel free to contact us and make a case for your comment to be reinstated.

As always, we welcome comments to this posting as well, keeping in mind what I wrote above.

Have a great day,
